Founder and President

Richard Hopper is the Founder and President of Lucky Lad Energy.

Since founding the company in 2020, Richard has led Lucky Lad Energy’s growth through the acquisition and optimization of conventional producing assets along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. To date, the company has completed seven acquisitions and three strategic divestitures, continuing to build and refine its portfolio while focusing on operational efficiency and production optimization.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA from Louisiana State University. He is also a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
